Boondocker vs Seagull Merlin

Boondocker vs Seagull Merlin

If you like the Seagull Merlin, the Boondocker is the closest thing we make — a compact diatonic dulcimer guitar you can take anywhere. We think a lot of players would enjoy owning both. If you are choosing one, here is how they differ.

Styles and woods. Merlin’s lineup is small. The Boondocker D2 comes in several body and top combinations (sapele, maple, henna and spruce tops), plus one-of-a-kind Off the Trail instruments.

The extra 6½ fret. Boondockers include a 6½ fret, which adds notes that a standard diatonic layout skips. It is a small change that makes a lot of melodies easier.
